Ida Tower

The Ida Tower which is situated in the Harrl foothills of the Bückeberg mountain was built by Prince Georg Wilhelm in the famine year 1847 to provide his farmers with labor and food.

The tower is named for Princess Ida, the wife of Georg Wilhelm. After climbing a spiral staircase with 128 stairs you'll be awarded with a wonderful panoramic view that allows you to see the Weser Mountains and the Steinhuder Sea with clear weather.

Nowadays the Ida Tower (212 m above sea level) offers gastronomic service and is a favorite stopover destination of hikers on their way from Bad Eilsen to Bückeburg.
